- in separate bowlblend sugars and shortening until fluffy with hand mixer.
- add molasses, spices, and egg to mixture, blend well

- gradually add chocolate chips, coconut, rasins, and nuts. blend well
- drop by rounded teaspoons on greased cookie sheet
- bake in 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes
